Harborne Council candidate, Akaal Sidhu, has given his backing to Les Jones for the role of Police and Crime Commissioner. At a public meeting, chaired by The Lord Michael Whitby of Harborne, Akaal was joined by Les to discuss the role of PCC in the West Midlands.

The meeting, which took place on Thursday 21st April 2016 at Moorpool Lower Hall, gave the public the opportunity to ask questions about the role of the PCC and air their views on issues surrounding policing in the city. Drawing on his experiences as both a Council candidate and a practising barrister Akaal told his potential constituents, "it is essential that your concerns about issues that affect your quality of life, such as anti-social behaviour and all forms of criminal activity are taken seriously by our local Neighbourhood Policing Team." He went on to add that in his "considered opinion the Conservative candidate, Les Jones, is the person suitably placed to deliver an improved policing service to our area."

Les, who is working tirelessly to canvass across the region, has his own six point plan for improving policing in the West Midlands. His priorities are: improved neighbourhood policing, protecting our frontline police force, reducing the fear of crime, improving the technological aids to policing, utilising resources better, and ensuring the whole region receives the policing it deserves.

The PCC elections take place along with the Local Elections on Thursday 5th May 2016.
