Malcolm Harbour, West Midlands Conservative MEP and Chairman of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee, has criticised the EU Commission for lack of focus and inaction on jobs and growth policies.

Speaking after a plenary session in Strasbourg Mr Harbour said: “The EU Commission needs to show clear focus on growth policies and targets and provide a clearer lead for Member States.

“Completing the Single Market has already been accepted as the number one priority for next year and along side this we need the unleashing of the regulatory burden on small businesses.

“Policies don’t deliver jobs and growth, implementation does.”
