Tom Skidmore candidate for Hall Green; has been campaigning for improved traffic measures at Robin Hood Island. The island was identified by local residents as a key location where congestion is causing delays and accidents for road users. It is also contributing to speeding further along the Stratford Road. A Conservative Association petition has been submitted to the council, which had over 200 signatories stating the problem needed to be addressed. Tom has also raised concerns about the Council’s focus on increasing advertising rather than funding highway improvements that will save lives and money. Meetings will be held with the council to plan a timeline for change. In October Tom successfully resolved the potholes that were causing a hazard on the Solihull Lane exit of the island by raising the issue with Birmingham City Council, but more needs to be done so that all Hall Green residents can benefit.
