Birmingham’s volunteer litter pickers give up their own time to help keep our streets, parks and green spaces clean.
The very least the Council can do is make sure they have the blue bags they need. But once again, volunteers have reported that council depots have run out.
Through the Council’s scrutiny process, Conservative committee chairs are continuing to question the administration and raise concerns about the services residents rely on.
Cllr Richard Parkin, Chair of the Neighbourhoods Overview & Scrutiny Committee, has written to the Cabinet Member asking why this has happened again, when new supplies will be available, and what will be done to stop it happening again.
Volunteers are stepping up for Birmingham. The Council needs to get the basics right and support them.
